The piñata is a closed container made of laminated paper, decorated with colourful paper and various fringes. The shape can be almost any shape. It is filled with various gifts or sweets. It hangs from a long rope, which is pulled to keep it moving. At various parties, blindfolded children then beat the pinatas with long sticks so that when they are broken, various sweets or toys fall out. It is used especially in the cultures of Mexico, the USA and Latin America in general. No sweets or gifts are included.
